Based on the overwhelming success of our 2007 inaugural event, the 5K Run/1 Mile Walk to benefit prostate cancer research is back. Last year we had over 1,200 participants and raised over $125,000. Please join us in helping to ensure that The Great Prostate Cancer Challenge of 2008 is even more successful than last year’s event.

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.
For over twenty years the American Urological Association (AUA) Foundation has supported and promoted research, patient and public education and advocacy to improve prevention, detection, treatment and ultimately cure urological diseases. Proceeds will benefit the AUA Foundation, and will fund prostate cancer research, screenings and awareness programs in the local communities.

Sadly, approximately 218,000 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer this year, one new case every 2.5 minutes; and more than 27,000 will die from the disease. We can help reverse these numbers. Please visit a city webpage near you to learn how you can make a difference for this great cause.
